Punjabi Community Health Services Manitoba (PCHS Manitoba) is pleased to announce the appointment of Rita Chahal as Principal Strategic Planning Consultant Rita brings more than 25 years of executive leadership experience across Manitoba’s nonprofit, community development, and public service sectors..


Throughout her distinguished career, Rita has served as Executive Director for several prominent organizations, including the Mood Disorders Association of Manitoba, the Manitoba Interfaith Immigration Council, and Employment Projects of Winnipeg. She also served as the first General Manager of the Manitoba Chambers of Commerce, where she played a key role in advancing business and community engagement across the province.

Rita’s professional experience includes strategic leadership, policy development, financial management, program design, and partnership building with all levels of government, community organizations, and the private sector. She has successfully overseen multi-million-dollar programs and initiatives focused on mental health, newcomer services, workforce development, and community empowerment.

Her career has been dedicated to supporting diverse and underserved communities, with particular focus on women, youth, newcomers, and Indigenous communities. In recognition of her leadership and community impact, Rita has received several honours, including being named a Manitoba 150 Women Trailblazer, one of Canada’s Top 25 Immigrants, and a recipient of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Award.

As CEO, Rita will provide strategic leadership to support the continued growth and development of PCHS Manitoba as it expands culturally responsive health, wellness, and social support services for communities across Manitoba.
